So Sherlock Jamon contacted a couple of the estate agents who had their boards at the front of the property. None of them were aware of anywork being done at the property and contacted the police. I have since returned to the house and the 'dodgy' men are gone and the tiling is still there albeit with a massive chunk removed and left on the side.
Maybe my hunch was right and the ol' bill caught the rotten scoundrels?
