Whilst jogging past the large vacant period house on the corner of Honor Oak Road and Manor Mount. The one with all the 'To Let' boards outside. I spotted 3 men who seemed to be unearthing the large victorian tiling on the entrance walkway. They didn't seem like proper workmen to me.
I should of questioned it at the time, I hope they're not doing anything dodgy.

So Sherlock Jamon contacted a couple of the estate agents who had their boards at the front of the property. None of them were aware of anywork being done at the property and contacted the police. I have since returned to the house and the 'dodgy' men are gone and the tiling is still there albeit with a massive chunk removed and left on the side.
Maybe my hunch was right and the ol' bill caught the rotten scoundrels?
1-0 to Jamon el Vigilante!!

Hi,
Well I was going to post about this property today. Has anyone received notification from Lewisham council concerning Planning Application, seems as if there are plans for extensions both at the rear and the side of the property, providing 7 self contained flats.

See Details - http://acolnet.lewisham.gov.uk/LEWIS-XSL...ey=52377 (I hope the Link Works!!)

I wander if the scallys were trying their luck!! Does anyone have an opinion of this proposed development??

Thanks for posting the link. There have already been three objections to this development from neighbours according to the site.

Personally I am not sure is 7 units in a site of this size is over-development, but at least there is some parking for them. What I find strange (although increasingly common) is; that a number of the kitchens have no windows, the two bedroom flats have two bathrooms (which seems unnecessary unless one is just a WC and the other just a bathroom), and because of the open plan kitchen/living area in some of the one bedroom flats a corridor is artificially created (with no natural light) to separate the bathroom from the kitchen by two doors (due to building regulation).

I was going to look into the proposal in detail last night, but got delayed. My main issue is the outside appearance as I live opposite. From what I recall it appears that there have been a couple of ammendments to the proposal, which maybe reflect previous objections.

The developers have put in another planning application proposal to build onto the back and side of 1 Manor Mount. It can be viewed on the Lewisham planning website number: DC/08/69286. I am calling on anyone who wants to preserve the Forest Hill Conservation area to sign my petition. http://www.gopetition.com/online/20655.html

Not again. Our council will not be happy until we have `100,000 in SE 23. We need these green spaces.
There is plenty of unsold property in SE 23.
Good luck to the citizens of Manor Mount.

Another plan to eat away at the remaining green spaces in FH ! No way!
I hope the plans for 6 Church Rise will receive the same scrutiny should Earlsfield try again with the previously suggested building for the site.

Best of luck with this.

I had thought that the previous application had been kicked out earlier this year! It seems the applicant is just re-hashing old plans until it gets approval.
Living opposite, I have certainly signed the petition and I wish you luck in the fight. I also note with concern that I have not received notice from Lewisham Council yet!!

I have signed petition and good luck. I think if devolpers put in a second request , however altered , they shouls have to pay council's costs. Or maybe they do now?

Thank you for your support.

I spoke to the planning officer today and it seems that the application proposal that has gone in is by a prospective buyer of 1 Manor Mount. There is also another planning application in the pipeline from the present owners. I am off to meet the planning officer tomorrow afternoon. If anyone has any questions they would like me to ask him do let me know.

There is a planning meeting for the 1 Manor Mount Planning Proposal put in by Mr Paul Kenward. A letter was sent out to local residents. I am hoping that local people will come to this to support me in my objection to the planning application DC/08/69286. Many thanks to those people who supported my objections to this planning application. We raised 92 signatures online with 33 letters attached, plus 27 names on a local petition and 9 letters of objection.

Joan Ruddock MP took up some of the points about this objection with the planning commitee.

Councillor Alex Feakes came over to visit me and support my objections.

One of my main objections is that we do not need more flats in the Manor Mount Conservation Area. The policy department of Lewisham is considering changing its policy on the size of family houses to be turned into flats because too many large houses are being lost this way and there is still a need for large family houses in the area. Manor Mount is a conservation Area and should be treated like one.

The meeting is being held at 7.30 in the Council Chamber of the Civic Suite, Lewisham Town Hall, Catford Road, London SE6. Local Ward Councillors will also be invited.

Teresa
May I wish you the best of luck.
I 100% agree we have too many flats and quite enough houses in Se 23.
You mention Joan Ruddock , while an MP from out of the area is welcome what about Mr Dowd.???????

Brian

Thank you for your supportive email and suggestion! I have written to John Dowd about the issue and the meeting!

I hope this evening goes well too. At least we are going to have a chance to communicate with a chairman. I have never done anything like this before but do at least feel that I am trying to do my best for both my own family and my neighbourhood.

The meeting at the Council Chamber was terrifying but interesting. There was some good supportive help from neighbours. I am not sure whether I have gained anything from it except a bit more time.

There is a new planning Application for 1 Manor Mount from Mr Rodrigues. So there are now two for the same house now!
