well done to southern today - trains on time and easy commute to work - impressive!!
Yes I was gob smacked when I got to Honor oak this morning to discover that across the board all trains were on time. Would have been nice if they had gritted the platforms though
Eh? The 945 from HOP turned up some time after 10. It was then a good 45 minutes before I disembarked at London Bridge. The platfrom congestion may or may not have been Southern's fault but let's blame them anyway.
I took the 07:59 from FOH. It was on time, half full, and actually quite relaxing for once.
I boarded the 0914 at 0914! Although the train arrived at LB 10 mins late due to congestion at the station. The LB to CX part of the journey was a nightmare as trains were delayed because of the snow which was much worse in outer SE London and Kent.
We should complain about these 2 coach trains. I got on one in the week & it was packed liked a sardine tin. Also if you look at the South Eastern trains they are all new but we have still got those old bone shakers. I think a French company runs our line and its time to get rid of them. They lost their contract north of the Thames a while back.
Those two car trains have been refurbished though with the toilets removed[/align], along with the other older trains on our line. I remember when they used to run slam door trains in the peak, so compared to then, it's slightly better.
And I remember when all trains were run on steam!!
What's going on with the trains? It says it's running a Saturday timetable but the trains are running to London Brige: 05, 14, 36, 44. How is this a Saturday timetable?

I will be glad when these holidays are over and we are back to normal. Too much disruption
I thought I was seeing things today when I arrived at Forest Hill to find trains running through to Charing Cross. It seems there is track capacity available from London Bridge to Charing Cross afterall but only when it suits the train companies and not their customers!
yes, i was pleasantly surprised to find that trains run to Charing Cross directly. I thought maybe the train company has changed their mind but it was only due to some work on the line.
Weather warning for Wednesday 6th January
We have been advised that snow is likely to fall across many parts of the Southern network tomorrow, Wednesday 6th January. Some of this is likely to be heavy so in anticipation of this, and to provide you with the best possible levels of service, Southern will be running a revised timetable throughout the day.
We will publish the revised timetable on this website as soon as it becomes available later this afternoon.

Is it worth me trying the 8.45am to London Bridge from HOP tomorrow morning or should I get the buses instead? I tried HOP and Lewisham stations on Wednesday and both were horrid - either cancelled, delayed or too packed to get on - so worked from home today, but I have to go in tomorrow.
Hope you didn't go for the 8:45 Jon - it was cancelled so you'll have had a long wait in the cold for the next (packed) train.
I was very pleased to see the platform completely free of ice this morning. Well done to Overground for getting this done.
I can only agree, despite the conditions I made it into work and even got a seat every morning, well done for keeping Forest Hill connected!
Have to congratulate Southern for managing to put out a full Metro service over this period.
A shame then that the journey from LB to CX is much worse since South Eastern Railway has cut back services. How can Southern provide a normal service while SE does the opposite?
Good grief today was hellish. My journey took 3hrs instead of the usual 40min.
We saw a few train pass through the station which were half empty. How hard would it be to make them do additional stops and relieve the overcrowding on other trains and stations?
All the trains were delayed anyway...
