Appeal following shooting in Forest Hill
08 August 2011
Incident Date
Friday 5 August 2011
Incident Location
Stanstead Road, junction with Colfe Road, Forest Hill, SE23
Description
We are appealing for witnesses after two men were shot in South London on Friday 5 August.
Police were called to Stanstead Road, junction with Colfe Road, Forest Hill, SE23, at 0100, after reports that two men had suffered gunshot wounds.
We believe that the gunman - no further description at this time - travelled to Colfe Road in a minicab where he got out and shot the two victims.
Both victims managed to drive from the scene in two separate cars. They then called police and were taken to separate South London hospitals by ambulance.
Both remain in hospital. One, a man aged 20, is being treated for a gunshot wound to the hand, and the other, a man aged 20, for a gunshot wound to the chest. Both are described as stable.
Police are speaking to a number of witnesses.
We are trying to trace the mincab driver - he is believed to have been driving a dark coloured people carrier which displayed TfL badges in the front and rear windows.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Trident on 0208 7858603 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111
