Lewisham’s Big Budget Challenge

What would you do if you had to cut out £1 of every £3 you spent? That’s the challenge facing Lewisham’s Mayor and councillors as they struggle to find further savings worth £85million over the next three years in the face of reduced government funding.

The Lewisham Big Budget Challenge is your chance to have a go at balancing the Council’s books. Find out what the Council currently spends, where the money comes from and what services it provides for the community, and choose your own way to trim the budget using the online budget simulator

Lewisham’s Mayor and councillors will be making decisions over the coming months and they are keen to know where you would continue spending money and where you think money could be saved.
The September assembly meeting will introduce the Lewisham Big Budget Challenge, explain how to get involved and answer your questions about the Council’s budget.

Come along to the assembly and meet your three ward councillors all of whom hold regular surgeries in Perry Vale. For more information visit: Lewisham web site
