Reading that
London Reconnection article. From what I understand.
January 2015 to 2018
Forest Hill is going to lose some trains to/from London Bridge while they construct the Bermondsey dive under between New Cross area/London Bridge. Timetable is not out yet.
This will be slightly compensated by an extra carriage on the Overground. And maybe an extra service or 2. But nothing confirmed. However, you're taking away an 8-10 car train for a 5 car.
....
Basically....the next 3 years is going to feel pretty busy and disrupted. Atleast we don't have to get on at Brockley!
I have received confirmation of the plans from both Southern and Overground regarding the plans from January 2015.
Southern will be terminating two trains before they get to Forest Hill. This will impact the 06:50 and the 08:31 from Forest Hill to London Bridge. All other trains will continue to run at the same frequency as the current timetable (possibly a few minor alterations, as you would expect).
Overground have confirmed they have no plans (or spare rolling stock) to add additional services to Crystal Palace in 2015.
So the London Reconnections article was a little wide of the mark. The loss of two trains is regrettable, but it is not the disaster predicted by London Reconnections.
