I waited an hour last night whilst Southern had a BBQ at Denmark Hill and gave up this morning and squeezed on the overground.

Cant wait for Christmas so I can put this crappy commute behind me for two weeks.

Usually cycle in but my bike had to go for repairs today and so I got the train. If you think that cycling in winter would be too much of a challenge I can assure you it is an infinitely more pleasant experience than getting the train on a day like today.

On Monday night the Overground was delayed a bit and a Southern train pulled in. I decided to go for the train I'd not got for a while, have my phone work the whole way and have a seat.

The good news is my phone did work and I did get a seat. The bad news is we sat outside London Bridge edging forward periodically in some form of slow torture whilst I berated myself for not waiting for the Overground train.

Finally after a platform was found for our train, I got to get the jubilee line. Except the escalators were out of order, so we go to queue for the gates at the Northern line.

On another note is the 7.23am train ever on time? I periodically get the 7.26 overground, which is 90% of the time slightly delayed mainly due to the 7.23 Southern train pulling in at or after 7.26.....

Londonerz - you might as well. Smile From Dec 20th to Jan 4th, there won't be any Southern Trains to London Bridge running at all from NXG/Brockley/HOP/FH/SH. The overground will be nice and, err, cosy for that last minute present-buying rush.

Aside from Sat 27 / Sun 28 Dec when we can all take a rest from the Overground for the simple reason that there aren't any Overground trains running as well!

Not to forget Dec 25th and Dec 26th of course. Smile

I might get the old roller skates out.
