There are three options to consider and a link at the bottom to provide your feedback on the options. If you can make it to the exhibition in the town centre and the library it is definitely worth seeing them in person, but it is good to see them on the web first.
I sent Helen an email with very few words, one of them was poor. When I have something more constructive to say I will email her.
What a total wate of time this consultation has been, going to write to my MP and ask for a public enquiry.

Think about it for a minute......the housing generates income which helps to pay for the pool which means we can get a better pool without heavy costs........sounds like a sensible option to me.....
Looking at the plans the housing domimnates the surrounding area and the green park is replaced with concrete. The flats are completely out of character to the Victorian facades across the road and whilst I am all in favour of sympathetic architecture there is nothing in those plans that shows any sympathy for the surroundings. Build on a budget and you get budget buildings.
Why do we need housing to subsidise the pool when there was none to start with? The council had already earmarked funds for the pool redevelopment until this almighty c*ck up.
Anyone spot the mistake on the second picture in option 3?
I thought the multi-storey leisure building was a deliberate policy ploy so that all those who despaired of the designs could throw themselves off the top
Part of an email I recieved from Helen outlining when they are going to have consultations.
Please feel free to come down to our consultation event, outside Forest Hill Station, either on Friday 18th July between 3pm and 7pm or Saturday 19th July between 9am and 2pm. As well as there being Council officers present, there will also be the architects who produced the designs available to listen to your views.
The flats wont pay for anything if you cant sell them.
All the new flat schemes in the area are struggling to sell.
Yes, option 3 - the high rise has been labelled 'the leisure building'. This is obviously not the case. Typical of slap dash council effort or something more sinister? - either way it does not bode well.
What do I think of the design? well, what am I told about the building,the materials proposed, the life expectancy, the cost? nothing!
Some interesting questions, although I fail to see how my ethnic background can influence the building? That I have indicated my wish to use the local pools and that I am a resident is sufficient information?
The high rise building dwarfs the pools and is surely NOT an option at all. The more green, open, environmentally freindly space, the better!
Also it's important the council spends on pool facilities not an internet cafe, which is better served by the library next door or the other private concerns in the neighbourhood, a community centre can be found through church or school halls - why use our pools for this? and at what sacrifice. I say no to a high rise!

Option 2 is probably a better compromise if we want two pools. WE DONT NEED A COFFEE SHOP!!!!!!!!!
I agree. Option 3 is terrible. A pool with a local 'feature' (i.e.eyesore) thrown in......
Option 2 looks quite nice but why do we have to knock those lovely buildings down for a far less ambitious Forest Hill version of Peckham Library...
Agreed, we dont want a coffee shop or flats. We just want a bl*ody pool!!!!

There is a coffee shop just across the road. Why are they including housing when the market is collapsing. Who is going to build these houses and who is to live in them ??
Plenty of homeless people in the country that the council could offer to house here.
Is it just me, but I cant read any of the labels on the features in those designs, except for "PLANT"? Are all the facilities discussed present?
And where are the 2D plans for the second storey?
It says the building form ?respects? the library.
But how much?
By the looks of things, none at all, in all 3 options.
The leisure centre 'turns its back' on one of the most attractive buildings in the area, and celebrates none of its features.
The massive respect is to the Salcombe House massiv, innit.
