Berkley homes obligations for FHC development states that the underpass is to get new lighting, a bit of a clean, and some new paint.

Is that it? Methinks Berkley got away lightly, and the council were shortsighted in not taking the opportunity to really improve this part of FH.

When the Perry Vale gates have been unmanned in the past, they normally open the large push/wheelchair barriers open.

Although when I came off the 19.14 from LB on Weds, it was unmanned and the guard was walking along the underpass returning from a break.

Is that it?

There is also the road reallignment and the extra paving on the north side of Perry vale, which have already been done.

Yes, that is clear in the obligations document.

I was specifically discussing the underpass.

A new self-service ticket machine was being installed in Perry Vale as I was leaving the station this afternoon.

FH station seems to be lacking a self service ticket machine in favour of massive queues.

Anyone know where it went?

I can sort of understand the reduction as there is now one appearing on the Perry Vale side, but since you can't access Platform 1 from Perry Vale it seems a bit daft.

Does the little credit card only self service machine in the ticket office still work?

It might do, but it's not there any more.

I think that's the one that's missing.

I'm expecting/hoping that it will be replaced by an Oyster ticket machine.

Does the the machine on the Perry Vale side have an Oyster reader? When i glanced at it it seemed to be exactly like the ones outside the front side of the main entrance.

Ah, so it's the credit card machine that's vanished? It might have gone to East Dulwich station as Southern's Barry Jones mentioned on EDF that a CC only machine has been acquired.

I think the 3 machines at FH are on loan from Southern until the new TfL machines are installed next year. (Although Overground software is already installed)

Has anyone seen the crane they are using to put the bridge in place? Awsome bit of kit.

Very impressive sight.

Horrible weather to have been working in, but the did it, and it's all in place.

Nice bridge as bridges go. Looks like a very large piece of Lego. Be good to see what it looks like when it's all finished.

I'm clearly not very observant - got the train from FH this morning and didn't notice the bridge at all!

Good picture, and well done to the crews for getting it done in that weather Thumbsup

Now if we can just have an improvement to the building too lol.

Speaking of stations and bridges... Workington North temporary station. Built in a week. Fair play to Network Rail for that one.

Back to the bridge, im gonna have to go and take a look at that later, looks nice Smile A definate improvement.

Will the footbridge be open soon, I wonder, while the lifts are still being installed?

Is that glazing (I hope) along the bridge or 'chicken wire' like before?

I had my first look at the bridge this morning. Looking great and love the fact it's fully covered from the stairwells across.

Once the lifts are installed, it will make a massive change to wheelchair and pushchair users. At the moment though, it's still that frustrating walk via the subway for now on the way home.
