To everyone living in Perry Vale ward.
Please see the link below, with details of the first Perry Vale Local Assembly Meeting, to be held on 2nd June.

I will be there, campaigning for traffic calming measures in Perry Vale (the road). Come and join me in my campaign - or perhaps you might want to run me down at high speed as I make my way there!

I will do my very best to be there. Could you remind people nearer the date please.
I agree traffic a major problem but not sure what else they can do. The sharp bend by Dacres has always been a traffic blackspot.

There will be notices distributed before the ward assembly with details of date, time and the venue of the meeting. It will be chaired by myself, and all 3 ward councillors welcome all Perry Vale residents to the assembly.

Brian: there were refreshments at the FH Ward Assembly, so I assume there will be some tonight too.

Many thanks to everyone who attended our ward assembly on Monday evening. Nearly 100 residents came out in the rain for what proved to be an event where all took part and many topics important to us Perry Valers were discussed. Everyone appeared to enjoy themselves, and there will be feedback from the assembly.
The next Perry Vale ward assembly will be at Forest Hill Boys' School on 2nd October 2008.

Don't forget to come along tonight if you live east of the railway (between Stanstead Road and Mayow Park).

Many many thanks to all those who ventured out last Thursday, despite the freezing temperatures, for what turned out to be another great meeting.
It was really good turnout, and the workshops discussed the two issues of improving both the local environment and facilities in the area for young people. To that end we had invited the young people from Rockbourne Youth Club and from the Motor Project in Kilmorie Road; and they got right down with the "older members" to what they felt the issues were. It was amazing.
Next meeting 23/04/09, and I shall remind all nearer the time.

Councillor Wise - why do the Perry Vale Assembly meetings always have to be on a Thursday evening? This doesn't give those who have commitments on a Thursday the chance to attend. Can't the meetings be scheduled for different evenings each time?

Very good ward assembly last night.
Three projects were approved by the assembly:
1. New computer suite for Rockbourne Youth Club
2. Funding for Young Lewisham Project based in Kilmorie Road
3. Tree planting on streets around the ward

Thank you for that positive comment on our ward assembly. I am very pleased that it went well, and the feeling from those that attended was that it was a good meeting and that they would come again. Thanks to those who turned out on another very warm evening.

Re planting trees and slecting pears to reflect the origins of the name Perry Vale - here's a link to the story about killer pears http://www.thecnj.co.uk/islington/2007/1...07_06.htmlSmile
