We have a regular meeting this evening, 7.00 - 9.00 pm at the Community Room, Forest Hill Pools. This will be a chance to learn more about what we are doing, and make your contributions and suggestions.
And there is a lot. As well as the regular mowing and keeping pathways clear and clearing the pond of decaying organic matter which Bruno and others living in the immediate neighbourhood do, we've also won funding from the Forest Hill Assembly for a nice notice board and making the 'unofficial' entrance from the railway path look a bit more respectable.
There's also been much work done this year on how the Green works as a 'performance space', preserving the magic of being this quiet little green oasis which 'belongs' to the people who live around, and whose campaigning, with the support of Lewisham Council, preserved it when threatened in the 1990s.
