Hi, we just moved to Hurstbourne Rd and heard there is a short cut from Forest Hill station to our road - rather than walking up along stanstead road and then into our road which can be a long and cold walk in this weather! We are based further down along the road - any ideas about where this shortcut is? (assuming it even exists!)
Thanks

It does exist. I often use it!
Go along Vancouver Road and through the alleyway. Cross Cranston Road into Loxton Road. You have a choice of roads, e.g.Farren Road or Trilby Road. But turn left. At the top of Trilby Road there is an alleyway through past the church and Perrymount Primary School to sunderland Road. Cross Sunderland Road and walk down the hill. This brings you to Perry Vale. Cross Perry Vale and turn right towards the underpass.

You may not find it saves any time, but a much more pleasant walk to the station.

I now live on Cranston, near the Vancouver alleyway, and can confirm that the quickest route to the station is Loxton, left onto Colfe, bear right onto Farren, right onto Treviso, left onto Trilby, through the Trilby alley, across Sunderland, down South Road, across Westbourne, Church Rise, Perry Vale and you're there.

Sorry, I mean left onto Vestris, right onto Shipman, then through the Trilby alley...

Not sure if this is related or not (as you specifically ask about FH station) - but when catching the train, we always walk to HOP (passing along Hurstbourne), which certainly feels quicker - though may be psychological.
Dave at the 'Coffee Bean' at the station is always a welcome sight - especially in this weather!

I know someone else who also thinks that Honor Oak Park station is nearer.
Another alternative is to go to the bus stop at the top of Hurstbourne Road. The board tells you when the next bus is due. I take the first one that comes.

Glad to hear it does exist! Thanks for the very precise instructions - I shall give it a go tomorrow.
Alisa - thanks for the welcome too!

I usually walk up Farren Road and then Shipman Road because Farren Road is not as steep as Trilby Road!
