Perry Vale old fire station to be redeveloped

I think that's fantastic news. I have long thought that it looked neglected so the best thing that could happen to it is some kind of redevelopment.

If it's a Grade II listed building then English Heritage will be heavily involved to ensure that whatever aspects of the building are listed will be preserved. You only have to look at the Capitol to see a good example of listed buildings in the area being well preserved. You may not like the pub but at least the building looks good and is in use.

EH really does have teeth when it comes to ensuring that listed building consents are complied with and generally will not hesitate to make sure that breaches are enforced.

We really shouldn't all jump to conclusions every time the word redeveloment is mentioned! frankly, it should be viewed as a good thing that the building is going out of the hands of Lewisham Council!
