A car reversed into a café in front of shocked commuters at a busy south east London station this morning.

Dramatic photos showed the vehicle with its rear embedded in the Aroma Café at Forest Hill station.

Police were called to the scene, beside the staff car park, just before 7am.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said no one was injured in the crash, despite pictures showing extensive damage to the shopfront.

The London Fire Brigade were called just before 7.30am and the area was cordoned off.
