I've been handing out these leaflets in the park, inviting people to come to a picnic next Sunday - and some may be coming through your letter boxes. Unfortunately, we don't have enough to leaflet as widely as we would like.



The initiative has come from our local cricket teams, who very much appreciate the chance to play in our lovely park, and are keen to give something back. Already this year they made a big difference helping Grow Mayow restore the part of their grounds which had to be dug up for a new sewer to the café.

Since printing the leaflets, our cricketers have also arranged under 14 four, maybe five teams for the Kwik Cricket, but any kids who want to join in will be welcome.

These teams will take part in a ‘Round Robin’ Competition on specially prepared wickets adjacent to Playground at far end of outfield. Meanwhile the Caribbean Ladies will be playing their Partners on the main square.

• Grow Mayow will have a nature trail for children.
