Forest Hill Society are planning autumn bulb planting and general tidy-up for the areas we've planted in Forest Hill and Honor Oak Park on Saturday 20th October 2.00-4.00pm, meeting in the forecourt of Forest Hill Station and Honor Oak Park station for simultaneous planting at both stations!

Could you please let me know if you are likely to be available as it is very useful to have an idea how many people might be helping. PM me or email michael@foresthillsociety.com

We hope to see you on the 20th October, with secateurs, gardening gloves, trowel and a spare plastic bag. Many hands make light work - and it's fun!

The TUC Austerity March takes place on that day.

Yeh, that's right, the TUC Austerity March is on.

Michael, how could you have been so insensitive as to arrange an event such as this planting whereby local people can volunteer a little time to enhance their own environment and have a little fun at the same time when you knew it would coincide with the March?

No, it's nothing to do with insenstivity is it, the FH Soc must have an agenda to try to cut the numbers going to the March so that it will be less significant and it won't even get on the news.

SO crafty... SO divisive - but you've been sussed!

Anotherjohn, has given away my little secret. I deliberately arrange it for this day to divert thousands of people from Central London to come to Forest Hill and Honor Oak to plant some flowers. But he failed to find out about my even more sinister plot to prevent people playing squash by clashing with World Squash Day.

But if anybody is free on 20th October to help with the planting it would be greatly appreciated. People of all ages are welcome to join us but we do ask that children are supervised by their parents.

It's just possible that some people might be torn between doing something local and contributing to a major event so I don't quite understand the need for the heavy sarcasm.

Please forgive me Michael - my stupid remarks seem to have killed this thread stone dead.

So I'm getting it back up to the top of the section so that people can see the good work you're doing and hopefully there will be a good turn-out and everyone will have a lot of fun sprucing-up the stations.

Good luck with it!
