yes, i was pleasantly surprised to find that trains run to Charing Cross directly. I thought maybe the train company has changed their mind but it was only due to some work on the line.

My husband went to the library today and there were no newspapers - apparently they are short-staffed. So books in short supply and now no newspapers. Have to go somewhare else in future.

I had the opposite problem. There were only unsliced loaves available and they would not slice them because the bread was too warm to put into a machine. That was in the afteroon about 3 pm so perhaps...

Try the wholemeal with the seeds in it. I found the taste very good.

Went to the new bakery first time and bread was very good. Fresh and nicely sliced for you, it even had sunflower seeds in it, although plain ones were also available. Won't need to bake my own now.

We need a bakery here, like the one in Sydenham "Cake Shop" or Nunhead. Good selection of cakes, bread to buy and a table or two to sit and have a coffee would be great.

People do not usually walk, unless they have small children and take them for a walk. otherwise, they just jump in the car and drive somewhere where the shops (or supermarkets are) I guess.
