Post: RE: Today's traffic...?

Yes, but according to tfl there is no need for any investment in our roads.

  Thread: Restaurants in SE London
Post: Restaurants in SE London

Another thread has morphed into a discussion about restaurants and bars in FH, so I was wondering, what is your favourite restaurant in FH / HOP, and what about further afield in this corner of London...

Thread: moving south of Stanstead road
Post: RE: moving south of Stanstead road

I can vouch for Kilmorie Road being a great area. About 12 mins walk to FH, HOP, or Catford stations. Also on the doorstep are three great primary schools, the FH tavern, Le Querce, Babour, two very g...

Post: RE: Evening Standard availability in Forest Hill

Ironic given that today's edition states that Forest Hill is 'finally gentrifying', whatever that means. Maybe the ES doesn't like to be seen in gentrified areas?

Thread: Side Return Extensions and Loft Conversions
Post: RE: SE23 Side Return Extensions and Loft Conversio...

We did a loft extension about 7 years ago - the best thing we've ever done to the house. We went from 3 bed to 4 and added a decent size separate bathroom. It cost around £50k including all bathroom f...

Post: RE: Work started on the Honor Oak pub

Honor man, you've hit the nail on the head with the HOP and pubs that serve burgers on wooden boards - it's SOOOO last year. Should we pop in and suggest they use papyrus? I think we could really star...

  Thread: Bakerloo Line Extension
Post: RE: Bakerloo Line Extension

Wih the massive success of the ELL Bakerloo Souh has to be a wise thing to do. Making use of overground tracks will surely keep the costs reasonable. South from Lewisham to Catford would get my vote.

Post: RE: Council cutting trees down

Mr. Mike. Thanks for the posting. Very interesting as I'd also noted that quite a few trees seem to have come down. I wonder what the process is for applying for a new tree. Does it have to be outside...

Despite all the recent Government efforts it's still very difficult for small businesses to raise capital so, if we want good quality local businesses then let's give them support and time if we like ...

Thread: To the owners of the pizza place @ The Old Bank
Post: RE: To the owners of the pizza place @ The Old Ban...

I think that's a bit harsh. Running a business is no easy thing - just look around at local empty commercial premises and the fact the site was vacant for so long. I think it's great they've moved in ...

I think Forest Hill played an important role in the development of both the Who and mod. Anyone with Quadrophenia should look at the text from Pete Townsend on the inside cover of the album and to who...

Will the first be a Crystalsaurus? I heard it was local to these areas in the Cretaceous period.

I think if you witness something like this it's quite comforting to know that there were no serious casualties. I was very relieved to hear that the chap knocked over by FH station was expected to rec...

The interesting thing for me is not that prices in Forest Hill are going up, it's the fact they are going up relative to other areas of London and in particular outer London and the South East. This m...
