I think they are supposed to be finished by March 2014 I remember from a letter we received.

I must admit to having thought the latest round of work (where the fairly new ticket barriers were removed) was putting in lifts - I haven't been paying attention!
yeah, it was more gates. which is good and always a queue to get out. just shows how many more people are using the station though....
Looks like it's full steam ahead getting the lifts installed at the station, been a long time coming but we're getting there. Will be a huge relief to all those mums I see/help trying to get up those stairs with their buggies.
Is there a date set for the lifts to be working at Honor Oak station? I thought they were due to be installed and running by March?
Don't know a date but I think that the work was scheduled to take 3 months. If so, that would be end of May...

The lifts at HOP station appear to be progressing well. That said the sign in the station says ready for summer 2014, which based on today's weather appears to have come and gone.
Clearly the timeline has drifted, does anyone know when they are due to officially open?

Honestly, every time I walk into the station, I don't know whether to laugh or cry about those chaps who carry out the station upgrade. They've spent the best part of an entire year now trying to do...what exactly? Entire weeks go by, where I see them occasionally moving a wheelbarrow, shifting bits of mud along the railway sidings. And two weeks later, they shift that mud back to its original position. The station itself is a fairly simple steel and wood construction from what I can see, adding lifts on both sides should have been a matter of weeks. Oh, hang on, it was meant to be a matter of weeks. May was the original date for the completion of those lifts, wasn't it?
(Yes, I know I'm turning into a grumpy old woman)

I presume you lot are structural engineers or something? We're lucky to get any sort of infrastructure investment in this economic climate. I was thinking only this morning how smart it all looks - compare the station as it was 10 years ago and it's a totally different place. It'll be done when it's done.

Ringingcod, no need to get upset, just asking when it will be ready, which is a fairly reasonable question in view of the timelines they gave out and have missed.
. I think the other comments on this thread are fair enough, it has dragged on and way past expected completion (there may be a good reason for this of course - an update would be nice).
I'm not upset matey. But anything might have happened to cause the delay once they started digging. Take the point on updates.
No worries - let's see what happens.
I rang London Overground customer services today and asked for their estimated date of having the lifts working.
After a few mins (which gives me faith that something was actually being checked) I was told that "the first week in November" is when we can expect to be able to use the lifts.
So not too long to wait now. Hopefully.

Following the appearance of new posters at the station, I checked back today and the customer services people at London Overground confirmed that it's going to be December now.
Annoying. Ten months to deliver something they initially said would be done in the summer. Still, it'll be worth it in the end, won't it?

Indeed. More oversized buggies on the trains, each taking up the space that 4 standing commuters could take, in the most awkward part of the door vestibule area possible.
Even better when you get two buggy users travelling together in the peak.
