I've just got in (from a late lunch at Canvas and Cream, yum!) and the centre of Forest Hill is crazy with traffic - and it was when I went out too. Didn't notice it so much coming from East Dulwich, but certainly going the other way (towards the junction you mention) is extremely congested.
