hi everyone,
I saw a poster today for an open mic night at the ackroyd centre this saturday and was wondering if this was a regular occurence in the area.
I write poetry quite regularly and I'm always looking for a place to perform and as I can't make this event I was wondering if anyone knew of any other nights similar to this one? I know that Ackroyd is more for after school clubs and sports classes, so I'm guessing that's a one off but I thought there might be a local bar or pub who does something similar?

Oh I'd love to find a local open mic night too, I'd like to meet local musicians and maybe take a stab at performing Staying tuned (pardon the pun) for this one...

There used to be one at the Hob which was generating an interesting following. It died a death when put on a frequency of every 3 weeks
I would also come and play if one of these existed.

Hi to all on this thread.
I'm helping a little customer to do a massive fundraiser soon for The Evelina Children's Hospital alongside another, and my target is 10k. The first fundraising event is on 5th Dec at The Hill. The line up may alter due to working commitments, but so far I have
Stand up commedian
Singer
Pianist
Finale will be local traders and staff willing to make complete fools of themselves performing a mini musical or dance routine depending on how many will join in. This is a definite as I have at least 6 confirmed!
Followed by an auction with items donated by local traders.
If any of you want to volunteer and perform please PM me. The more the better. If enough acts volunteer we can have another show on the 4th which means double the money raised for The Evelina.
