It isn't obvious from National Rail or any other websites but there will be a week without any Southern Trains through Forest Hill 10th-18th February.

Planned strike action will affect Tube services between Sunday 7 and Friday 12 January. If the strike action goes ahead:

On Sunday 7 January, Tube services will close earlier than normal. Customers are advised to complete Tube journeys by 17:30

From Monday 8 until Thursday 11 January, severe disruption is expected, with little to no service expected to run

On Friday 12 January, Tube services will start later than normal with a good service expected by midday
London Overground, Elizabeth line, DLR, tram, bus and National Rail services are not involved in this strike action. Some services will be much busier than normal and affected by station closures where stations also serve London Underground lines. Queuing and one-way systems may be in place.

What reason is given for the lack of Southern services for that week??
Any ideas?

It's for resignalling works on the line into Victoria via Crystal Palace, so the Victoria to London Bridge service can't run. It's during half-term week in February.

They're also doing the signals on the line into London Bridge via Peckham Rye at the same time.

More information from Network Rail at https://www.networkrail.co.uk/running-th...-upgrades/

London Overground will operate throughout the works and apparently the Southern service will resume on Sunday 18th February. (There is also a limited early morning/late night service to and from London Bridge that week).

I'll post more about it in February when timetables are finalised.

Tube strikes for next week are ON. (Elizabeth Line, DLR and London Overground are open throughout).

Canada Water, Whitechapel and Highbury & Islington may close early due to staffing as they're managed by London Underground.

Some alternative travel suggestions.

London Bridge: Use Southern services instead. (There are more regular services from Catford Bridge or Lower Sydenham)

Waterloo including Southwark and Charing Cross: Southern to London Bridge then change for Southeastern or Bus 176. (Southeastern from Catford Bridge/Lower Sydenham also an option).

Canary Wharf: Overground to Shadwell, then DLR to Canary Wharf or Overground to Whitechapel and the Elizabeth Line to Canary Wharf. Another option is the 185/P4 to Lewisham Station then the DLR.

Victoria: Use Southern services or Bus 185.

North Greenwich: Bus 122/185/P4 to Lewisham then the 108 or 129.

Westminster: In walking distance of Victoria and Charing Cross stations and numerous local bus routes.

Euston: In walking distance or a short bus ride from King's Cross/St Pancras and Tottenham Court Road.

Use the Elizabeth line for Liverpool Street, Moorgate, Farringdon, Tottenham Court Road, Bond Street (for Oxford Circus), Paddington, Stratford, Ealing Broadway and Heathrow.

Use Thameslink from London Bridge or Farringdon for Blackfriars, City Thameslink, St Pancras International Thameslink (for King's Cross).

If you're able to, eBikes or Santander bike rental may be a faster way of getting around Zone 1 rather than waiting for a bus or walking.

Next Tuesday, 30th January there will be no Southern services into London Bridge and Victoria due to industrial action.

London Overground will be operating as normal, but expect services to be busier than normal.
