Looks like the work on the Lorimer estates monstrosity has started. Tyson Road now sporting boarding in place of two lovely but neglected houses, workmen were there early this morning.

Here we go ....... Cursing

Have they had reserved matters approval for the detail of the scheme or are they just doing demolitions?

I suspect they are trying to make sure their permission is 'implemented', even if they only do a tiny part of it as that way it can't expire.

Sign up at the corner of Dunoon Road says that there is no parking on Honor Oak Road on 14th August due to "crane operations". Wonder if this is connected?

Maybe the crane will be pulling trees out of the ground??

Think you will find the crane operations are for the temporary classrooms being lifted into Fairlawn School ready for the new school year.

There are no notes on the fencing or iron gates that have been fixed into the ground by concrete (and appear to have taken up slightly more pavement than is required - luckily I don't have a pram to worry about) so I have no idea what the next phase will be.

I'm dreading the work starting but maybe they are just providing us with a visual reminder Confused

As it will form the entrance to the estate I suppose it makes sense that it will be large - it just looks so stark and big in the street like that.

Came home today and saw that they have painted it to fit in with the natural surroundings - that royal blue really blends in!

I'm going to be sooooooooooooo grumpy when the work starts!
