Monday 19th is an extra bank holiday for HM The Queen's funeral, so will either be a Saturday or Sunday service.

Hi
has anyone travelled on the overground on the day after a strike?
I need to be somewhere Sunday morning, probably leaving just after 9, so not too early. Would normal service have resumed by then?

thanks

Saturday 8th October:

Strike action by the RMT is likely to make the following different from the official timetable.

SOUTHERN: No service except for two early morning replacement bus services. 0547 to London Bridge and 0632 to Balham. There is a replacement bus service from London Bridge to Forest Hill which arrives at 0026. Two late night rail services to Forest Hill will start from London Bridge at 0020 and 0035. Another replacement bus to London Bridge is at 0022.

London Overground: A reduced service of 4 trains per hour between West Croydon and Highbury & Islington. No Crystal Palace services will operate. It's likely this service will end by 1800.

Sunday 9th October:

London Overground: A reduced Sunday service of 4 trains per hour between West Croydon and Highbury & Islington. Early morning services to West Croydon will be 4 trains per hour instead of 2. No Crystal Palace services will operate.

Southern: No service.

Am I correct in thinking we have no trains at all on Saturday?

I think there are some trains today from Catford to London Blackfriars. I know this is not near Forest Hill, but might help some people.

@nottinghillbilly - As already posted by rbmartin on post #51 above there are no Southern services from Forest Hill/Honor Oak Park in either direction on Saturday. And it appears the few bus replacements and the 2 train services after midnight from London Bridge mentioned in that post are no longer calling at Forest Hill either! Southern have advised Journey Planners have now been updated with all planned services for Saturday. These show connections to/from London Bridge using London Overground services to Norwood Junction and then Southern to London Bridge but even if everything runs and to time it's a 28 minute journey so quicker and probably more reliable to use London Overground to Canada Water and the Jubilee line!

London Overground are operating 4 services an hour as they can only operate the West Croydon service due to planned engineering work between Sydenham and Crystal Palace all weekend.

So am I correct in understanding that Overground will run 4 trains an hour?
I thought I read that they are stopping at 6pm Saturday?
Or have I misunderstood ?
Thank you.

They're running four trains per hour until 6pm on Saturday. The last train from Canada Water to Forest Hill is at 1738.

The last train from Forest Hill is the 1802 to Dalston Junction.

On Sunday they're running four trains per hour all day with a late start in the morning.

RMT strike days mean that there is no Southern service from Forest Hill, while on an ASLEF strike day, London Overground drivers go on strike but the Southern ones go to work as what happened on Wednesday along with Network Rail signallers.

Saturday 15th October:

Southern: No service, except for two late night services from London Bridge at 0020 and 0035. A replacement bus service will operate from Victoria to Forest Hill leaving Victoria at 2356 arriving at 0128 as it runs via Balham and Crystal Palace. (I'd use the 185 instead which will be much faster).

London Overground: Normal service.

Sunday 16th October:

Southern: No service.

London Overground: Normal service.
