Just to add that there are rail replacement buses between Crystal Palace and West Croydon on Saturday as well, these are in addition to the Southern services from CP to West Croydon.

So Southern trains are running to London bridge?
Can you clarify this please?

Southern are running to London Bridge and Victoria this weekend.

Not well publicised this weekend is London Overground's Rail Replacement services.

Service N is operating between Crystal Palace and West Croydon all weekend calling at Anerley, Norwood Junction, Selhurst (for Southern services) and West Croydon.

Service X is operating between New Cross Gate and Dalston Junction calling at New Cross, Deptford Bridge for DLR, Surrey Quays, Canada Water, Bermondsey, Tower Gateway for DLR (and District/Circle at Tower Hill), Whitechapel, Shoreditch High Steet, Hoxton, Haggerston, Dalston Kingsland (for North London Line Overground services to Canonbury and Highbury & Islington) and Dalston Junction.

Passengers for Shadwell and Wapping need to change at Whitechapel and get the D3 bus.

Thank-you.
It was with great relief that I gathered Southern were running trains.
This evening's train was so crowded it felt like the weekday overground!

Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December

Forest Hill/Honor Oak Park: London Overground are operating a reduced service of four trains per hour between Highbury & Islington and West Croydon. There is no service to Crystal Palace, nor the Southern service to London Bridge and Victoria all weekend. Use the Overground to Canada Water for onward travel for those stations.

Catford Bridge/Lower Sydenham: Normal service on Saturday, Sunday sees trains diverted to Cannon Street.

Crofton Park/Catford: No service this weekend due to industrial action by Thameslink drivers. Sevenoaks services that are running aren't running via Crofton Park on Saturday.

Southern services from Forest Hill on weekdays during the work to rule in the first week of December will operate normally and London Overground drivers are not striking.

Southeastern are on strike on Wednesday 6th December.

Worth noting that from Monday to Friday, London Overground will finish early towards West Croydon. After 11pm all trains start/terminate at Crystal Palace due to engineering works. The last train from West Croydon to Forest Hill is at 2246.

Saturday 9th/Sunday 10th December:

Forest Hill/Honor Oak Park: No Southern service to London Bridge and Victoria on Saturday due to work to rule by ASLEF drivers. They will operate on Sunday. London Overground is operating a normal service throughout.

Catford Bridge/Lower Sydenham: Normal service.

Crofton Park/Catford: An hourly service will operate between Blackfriars and Sevenoaks from 0730-1830 on Saturday and 0800-2300 on Sunday.

A summary of Christmas services between 23rd December and 2nd January starting with Forest Hill and Honor Oak Park. I'll post information for Crofton Park/Catford and Catford Bridge/Lower Sydenham later.

Southern will operate on 23rd, 24th with an early finish and then from the 27th onwards between London Bridge and Victoria. Last train from Victoria at 1950, London Bridge at 1943 on Christmas Eve. London Overground will operate until slightly later on Christmas Eve. The final train is the 2142 from Highbury & Islington calling at Whitechapel at 2155 and Canada Water at 2203.

Big changes to London Overground over the festive period. There are no through services from our stations to the core section including Canada Water, Whitechapel and Highbury & Islington from 26th-29th with through services resuming on 30th.

There are also no trains between Sydenham and West Croydon from 26th to the 28th December.

Boxing Day to Thursday 28th will see a shuttle service operate between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace. On Boxing Day, use the Crystal Palace service to travel to central London and East Croydon as Southern will operate to Victoria from CP. On Weds/Thurs use Southern services from our stations to get into Central London.

Friday 29th will see four trains per hour operate between New Cross Gate and Sydenham. Two trains per hour to Crystal Palace and two to West Croydon. Note that if you're travelling towards Croydon, it'll be a 30 minute gap between services. Again if you're travelling into Central London, use Southern instead.

Saturday 30th and New Year's Eve sees a normal service from our stations with the Night Overground extended to West Croydon and Crystal Palace on the night of the 31st into New Year's Day.

A Saturday service will operate on New Year's Day on London Overground and a Sunday service on Southern.

So am I correct in thinking we have Zero trains from Forest Hill to either Canada Water or Whitechapel from 27th-30th December??
This is unbelievable
How do they expect people to get to work??
I'm hoping I've mis-understood.

Sadly not. There's nothing between New Cross Gate and Highbury & Islington from the 26th-29th. Through trains run from Saturday 30th.

The main reason is for the building work at Surrey Quays for the new station entrance which is being built next door to Surrey Quays Shopping Centre car park. But it also gives them a reason to do work at stations and on the track which would otherwise involve more weekend closures. If you get on the end carriage back to Forest Hill, you'll see they've closed off the end of the platform with fencing while this work happens.

So Southern will take up the slack during Christmas week on the working days between Christmas and New Year.

The next Highbury & Islington to New Cross Gate closure after Christmas is the weekend of the 3rd-4th February and 24th-25th February and also two weekends in March.
