Crofton Park & Honor Oak Park Forum have put forward two sites for housing in a plan to develop land at Whitbread Rd & adjacent to Honor Oak Park station. They are inviting comments.

How to make sure your "consultation" is unopposed? Make it as hard as possible to read.

I've just been over to the website to have a quick look, given up, slides too hard to read, too small print, need to zoom individually to each slide, obscured by comments box. Consultation equivalent of TL;DR. I'd like to find out more, but have better things to do, than to wrestle with this website. Very poor show.

Not in favour myself.

I would agree with the comments about the website being rubbish. I gave up it was so difficult to navigate.

Feels like an exercise in navel gazing by a self-appointed elite.

That is because it is. Neighbourhood planning was intended to be a people-led exercise by the Localism Act. This is all about Crofton Park Ward and is being driven forward by Councillors.

It is instructive to note that the proposed areas for housing are all at the margins from a Crofton Park perspective and I think they need to nominate zones for new housing in order to be able to control development elsewhere.

The area by HOP station is right at the heart of Honor Oak and is where lovely big trees were felled to clear the illegal dumping by Southwark Council which was causing slippage onto the platform and lines. I was assured by Network Rail that they would allow nature to return. As this is part of the New Cross to Forest Hill railway embankment, a green space of borough-wide (Lewisham) significance, and adjoins the Old Nursery site which has hedgehogs, newts and invertebrates, I would hope that sense would prevail and development should not be allowed there. People do need to respond to this though, poor website or no, or this will just get rubber-stamped.
