Fairlawn recently had a full ofsted inspection, and as a parent there I'm proud to say that it has been rated as Outstanding in ALL areas. This is a fantastic achievement and one of which the staff, governors and parents should be really proud. The new criteria mean getting outstanding across the board is especially rare, and puts Fairlawn probably in the top 5(?)% of uk schools. Well done to everyone!
However, this fantastic result can't benefit any more of the local community than it already does, as the school is completely oversubscribed. So come on Lewisham, give one of your exemplary education providers chance to support even more of your constituents, and give them space to expand! Namely, Hamilton lodge and 118 Canonbie, where Fairlawn could provide an infant school and then be able to double it's current size.

It is fantastic news, especially given the changes in leadership and staff over the years. As a year 4 parent that arrived in Forest Hill without an appreciation of primary schools, its been a real privilege to be associated with Fairlawn. The effort demonstrated by everyone involved in the place is rightly recognised by Ofsted, incredible achievement and well done!

Fairlawn. The school that most SE23 residents will never ever see the benefit of. Catchment area of 250 metres? Lol.

We live within the small catchment area of Fairlawn, but our children went to another primary school, as did many of those of our near neighbours.
Just because it gets a good Ofsted report doesn't necessarily mean that it's the right school for you. I actually preferred Stilless (admittedly some years ago). I found Fairlawn very stand-offish and unhelpful whereas Stillness was really friendly. As it goes, we weren't offered a place at Stillness, our first choice and my boys went elsewhere.
