A quick summary of the New Year week during the Christmas holidays. The timetable is provisional, so may be changed the closer we get to Christmas.

Southern services return on December 27th (Saturday). The Windrush line will be operating a full service to Crystal Palace and West Croydon overnight on NYE as part of the Night Overground.

On the Hayes line, there will be an every 15 minute service to Catford Bridge and Lower Sydenham from Charing Cross until 0221 on NYE. These will alternate between Hayes and Orpington via Beckenham Junction.

The Thameslink line to Crofton Park and Catford is a normal service. Last train from Blackfriars on NYE is 2321 with no special service.

Saturday 20th/Sunday 21st September.

Forest Hill/Honor Oak Park: No Southern service to London Bridge or Victoria all weekend except for late night services from London Bridge on Saturday. Normal service on the Windrush line with the exception of late night services terminating at Dalston Junction on Sunday. The last through service from Highbury & Islington is at 2219.

Catford Bridge/Lower Sydenham: Normal service on Saturday, replacement buses between Lewisham & Hayes on Sunday.

Crofton Park/Catford: Normal service.

Saturday 27th/Sunday 28th September

Forest Hill/Honor Oak Park: Replacement buses all weekend between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace with late services also operating to London Bridge and West Croydon. Victoria services start from Crystal Palace.

Catford Bridge/Lower Sydenham: Normal service.

Crofton Park/Catford: Normal service on Saturday, replacement buses on Sunday between Herne Hill and Bromley South.

Saturday 4th/Sunday 5th October.

Forest Hill/Honor Oak Park: Normal service.

Catford Bridge/Lower Sydenham: Reduced service on Saturday diverted to Victoria. On Sunday services are also diverted to Victoria.

Crofton Park/Catford: Normal service.

Saturday 11th/Sunday 12th October.

Forest Hill/Honor Oak Park: No Southern services to London Bridge and Victoria all weekend. Normal service on the Windrush line.

Catford Bridge/Lower Sydenham: Trains don't call at Lewisham on Saturday with services diverted to Victoria on Sunday.

Crofton Park/Catford: Normal service.

One extra train to London Bridge in the morning and another in the evening as part of Southern's winter timetable from December 15th.

Saturday 18th/Sunday 19th October.

Forest Hill/Honor Oak Park: Normal service on Saturday, on Sunday there is no service on Southern and a reduced service between Highbury & Islington and West Croydon only. There is no service to Crystal Palace.

Catford Bridge/Lower Sydenham: Normal service.

Crofton Park/Catford: Replacement bus service all weekend between Herne Hill and Bromley South on Saturday and Herne Hill to Swanley on Sunday. Some early/late services are extended to Blackfriars.

Saturday 25th/Sunday 26th October.

Forest Hill/Honor Oak Park: Normal service on Saturday. Replacement buses New Cross Gate to Crystal Palace with one late service to West Croydon on Sunday.

Catford Bridge/Lower Sydenham: Normal service.

Crofton Park/Catford: Normal service.

Saturday 1st/Sunday 2nd November

Forest Hill/Honor Oak Park: Normal service.

Catford Bridge/Lower Sydenham: Normal service on Saturday, Sunday services are diverted to Cannon Street.

Crofton Park/Catford: Normal service.

From Monday to Thursday this week, the Windrush Line will only operate from New Cross Gate to West Croydon/Crystal Palace during late evenings.

The last through service from Highbury & Islington at 2132, Whitechapel at 2146 and Canada Water at 2153.

Use London Bridge or Victoria after this time if travelling from central London for Southern services.

Any idea of the reason for this?
It makes getting home for those working in Hospitality and Retail and those actually going out in central London really quite painful.
I feel that our line suffers more disruption than any of the other overground lines and in Forest hill at least we are pretty much at the mercy of the train links to get anywhere relatively quickly and easily.

I believe it's to do with the ongoing works at Surrey Quays station which will be completed next summer.
