Before I update next weekend's engineering works, it's important to know how the tube and DLR strikes from Sunday will affect your travel.

This Sunday the London Underground is expected to close from 1800 and will have a limited service or no service at all depending on the line used from Monday to Thursday. LU will start up from 0800 on Friday and have a full service from the late morning.

Canada Water may also not open or be open for a limited time as the station is managed by London Underground. Check before you travel.

The Elizabeth line is open throughout but will not stop at Whitechapel (and other deep level stations to Bond Street) before 0730 and after 2230 on Monday and Wednesday, while on Tuesday and Thursday there's no service until 0800 but will stay open until the final service. It may also be the case that Windrush line services won't stop at Whitechapel at those same times too.

Strike action on the DLR on Tuesday and Thursday means that Shadwell DLR will be closed on those days with no services across the DLR network. If the Jubilee line to Canary Wharf is closed, then the Elizabeth line from Whitechapel is an alternative.

There's no mention of the opening times for Highbury & Islington station which is also managed by London Underground. This may affect Windrush line services which may terminate at Dalston Junction when the station is closed. Again check before travelling to see if H&I is open for Victoria line, Great Northern and Mildmay line services before travelling. It may be possible to change at Canonbury for Mildmay services.

To recap, Sunday evening don't use the Tube. The only rail links into central London after 1800 are the Elizabeth line from Whitechapel or Southern services from London Bridge/Victoria.

Monday and Wednesday use the Elizabeth line, but ensure you reach Whitechapel before 2230. Tuesday and Thursday Whitechapel is open until the last train.

Use Southern services into London Bridge to change for Southeastern services into Cannon Street, Waterloo East and Charing Cross along with Thameslink services for Blackfriars, St Pauls Thameslink, Farringdon (when London Underground open the station) and St Pancras Thameslink for King's Cross.
