Thank you for posting this Michael.
Yes, please sign this petition. It is vital not only for Eliot Bank school children but also Kelvin Grove and Lammas Green Nursery children. There have been several near misses on this road and the council should take action before there is a serious accident.

Ah, thanks Michael (and Sesame) - it does seem to have got worse over the 4 years I've being doing the school run... and not just the school run, also the route down to the lovely new Forest Hill pools :o)

There was meant to be a zebra crossing outside the pools - it was in the council approved plans as I remember. Dream on.
They are not so popular as some drivers will not stop, giving the pedestrian a false sense of security.
The only answer is to roll out seek-and-destroy predator drones to police our crossings.
