I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. When I reported this problem to Thames Water a couple of months ago they said no-one else had reported a problem. They asked me to run my cold tap water for ten minutes or so to clear the problem. It didn't of course. I too thought the water tasted a bit strange, but maybe it's just my imagination.
Seems to be clear today
Yep, mine's been OK since Friday.
Hi there

Anyone else having water problems? No water at all from hot or cold taps in the kitchen. No hot water coming out of tap in bathroom (but cold is ok). Toilet is flushing fine. I have a gas boiler, which is showing no faults, I have a gas cooker, which is working, so I know there is gas there. The pressure on the boiler is 1.1 bars which is ok I think?

I'm in one of the blocks of flats on Perry Vale by the way. Anyone else having problems (or have any suggestions for who to call? Do I call the gas company to sort the boiler (which seems to be fine)? The water company (but I do have water)? The boiler comes on when I turn the heating on so I can't think it's the boiler.... I don't know which water comes from the mains and what comes from a tank...

Am thinking of calling a local plumber to have a look...

Any bright ideas? I feel like a damsel in distress!
Have you checked that you haven't accidently turned off the water under the taps? It should be a blue lever thing.
Yep that's ok.... Just going to see my neighbours and see if they have problems too.
It sounds as if it could be the mains water not coming through depending on your water system.
Hi all, its such a relief to read this. I reported it to Thames Water and was told that it was internal problem and that i should pay a plumber to come and trace a posible leak in my pipes. Total rubbish i thought. The water looks awful and definately tastes almost 'earthy' sometime. I was still getting cludy water last time i looked Sad
Take a sample and as Emvironmental Health to test it.
The section of London Road just over the hill toward East Dulwich was recently dug up for a few weeks to lay a new water main. This was supposed to increase pressure in the area, so if you're somewhere in the vicinity, it might be connected to that.
There is another excavation in Dulwich near North Dulwich station.

The excavation work near North Dulwich station is to replace the bridge over the railway. Having said that, a blue water main looking pipe has been terminated either side, and this work may have been a source for some air leaking into the system.

Just got up to very low water pressure in our house in Honor Oak - barely a trickle coming out of the taps.

Has a water main burst? Anyone else had any problems? Or know how widespread this is? Or when it's likely to be resolved?

Any more info appreciated!
I heard on the radio that a water main had burst somewhere along the South Circular but I thought it was nearer Dulwich - still, I wonder if the change in pressure there is affecting other nearby areas. My water is OK but not its usual strength.
Serious problems being reported in SE22 on the East Dulwich Forum:

Apparently it's the water main in Thurlow Park Road and will take all day to fix. So it the lido for a shower then.

Argh! Must have been what was left in the pipes. Just back in and now no water...
Very low pressure in our taps too (Perry Vale ward)
Thames Water have a recorded message on their customer helpline number - left at 1.15pm and suggesting they expect to have the burst main fixed in "3-4 hours" - looks like that was an optimistic estimate...
I phoned Thames Water about midday and yes, it is a burst main on Thurlow Park Road.

I hope it's sorted soon as it's been off since before 9 am and I feel minging.

This is the second time this year we've had no water for a large part of a weekend - it happened in May.
Same here. I live on Perry Vale and I have no water at all. Hoping it gets resolved before tonight otherwise I'll be bathing in Evian. Wink Still, I've heard it's good for the complexion!
