Cleaning out a blocked drain last weekend, I found what looked like a live handgun round in the bottom on the catch pit.
The drain which takes waste from various sinks and kitchen equipment is only accessible from the house and garden through a coarse grating.
I called 101 and the bullet was made safe by the police. Has this happened to anyone else?

Sure. I've lost count of the number of times I've found a gun and bullets when cleaning out my drains........

They took it away - an armourer has tools for opening cartridges etc without risk of the thing going off.

Blimey, did they take a look for anything else?
Thats a good find thought, albeit a little worrying.

Had a good dig (they let me do this!) in the next drain, but nothing interesting found.
