I was wondering whether someone might be able to help by doing some driving on New Year's Day for a festive lunch being held in SE23 for elderly and/or isolated people in the community. We have a 16 seat minibus and need to pick up guests from as far away as St Mary's Cray and bring them to the venue in SE23.

If anyone is able to give up their time and driving skills that would be great, it is a long day I have to be honest but a good deed is a great way to start 2014...! Thumbsup

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

Alice

What times of day do you need it doing?
More than happy to help if it fits in my day.

I am also available, Alice. (I could do with topping up my karma.) And it sounds like fun to spin around London on New Year's Day.

I have a standard British Driving License. Do I require an enhanced license from the DVLA for the minibus?

Alice so glad you got this sorted out. This forum is great for thing's like this. Further to our PM I'd like to donate some traditional sweets for the journey if that's ok with you. Just let me know.

Sounds like quite a fun adventure really Smile so more than happy to help where I can.

Look forwards to hearing back with what the plan is, and helping out in any way I can. Used to driving vans, minibuses and Luton vans with work in the past.

At least this is something to look forwards to this 'festive' season Smile

I would love to say I'm making a huge sacrifice and be dramatic about it, but I would be lying. I don't do anything over Xmas and NY, in fact I actively avoid it lol.

But I agree that there is a great community spirit in this area when the call goes out, in fact I had that exact conversation with someone the other day. When the chips are down, FH responds. Or some do at least. Thumbsup

There really is a great community spirit, I'm so pleased to have had several offers of help and thank you Pauline for the offer of sweets, these will go down a storm I'm sure! I'll pop into the shop over the next week or two, it really is a kind gesture.

You little beauty, Pauline!

I love all lollies.

Especially, Curly Wurlys.

Thank you so much.

I will make sure they are split evenly between me and everyone else.

60/40.
