Has anyone else noticed that many of the Christmas lights on the lampposts on London Road and Dartmouth road are looking somewhat less than festive due to the large number of unlit bulbs in them?

There's one particularly sad one more or less outside the Butchery and another near the Sue Ryder charity shop.

Are they sponsored by Britain's finest electrics from back in the day, Lucas aka the Lords of Darkness? I have a few spare sets in the loft if Lewisham need some spares.

I noticed the ones in Forest Hill road/Peckham rye look sunning by comparison.
On a positive the tree by the station is lovely!

Nottinghillbilly my not for profit Santa's Grotto open's tomorrow at 55a Dartmouth Road at 11am. It look's amazing inside thank's to local resident's help, and my shop landlord. I closed the door tonight almost ecstatic around 10ish but am not happy with the outside look for tomorrow morning opening. I will happily have your spare light's for the shop front which I will be doing my best with spray snow from 10 till 11 tomorrow if you want to drop them down to me. They will be greatly appreciated by local kids and me.

Hi P1971,
My comment about having spare sets of lights in the loft to decorate the high street was meant as a joke,.
I hope someone sees your post who does have spare sets and donates them to an excellent cause.
Good luck!Thumbup

Hi Nottinghillbilly
Doh! Too many late night's this last week with lot's going on so didn't get the joke, sorry!
Local kids and parents had a great day at the grotto workshop space today making lantern's with Cyrus from Stag and Bow for free and tomorrow from 1.30 till 3pm Kizan will be making xmas decoration's with the kid's for free.
Mrs Claus will be at the grotto 11 till 4pm tomorrow. Female version of Mrs Doubtfire springs to mind!
My shop xmas tree has now gone to the front of the grotto during opening times, but if anyone has any spare LED light's for the shop front I'd really appreciate it as the spray snow didn't quite do the trick today.

I've reported the four lamp posts with unlit decorations on Dartmouth Road via Lewisham website and the two on London Road via http://www.lovelewisham.org/Reports/Add
I'm sure this is a problem that can be resolved one way or another within a couple of months :-)

Judging by the lights and the rather forlorn looking tree (which looks like it's in prison with those barriers around it) it looks like an austerity Christmas theme from Lewisham council. I think if you look closely you can see George Osborne on top of the tree...
