Having problems. Are there any instructions on things like file size etc? The help topics are rather minimalist.

What problems are you having, specifically?

When I post an image, it's usually from a file already on my computer. I add it as an attachment to the post. Once the file is uploaded, an option appears to embed it in the post. Click on that and it will then appear as a thumbnail in the post that enlarges in a new window when someone clicks on it.

Thanks for advice. I uploaded an image but nothing happened when I tried to "add attachment". In "view attachments" I appear to be using 1.54 MB but no attachments are showing. Will have another go.

I wondered if the file was too big or what the ideal size/format might be.

Not sure what the file size limit is but there certainly is one and it isn't immediately obvious if you exceed it. Try using jpg format which is a compressed image.

Thanks - managed to get a picture up via the thumbnail route.

I see full size images in posts but have not managed to do this yet, you have to click on mine to get it up to size.

The next step is to right-click on your thumbnail and select 'Copy Link Location' so that you get a link of the form:

Code:
http://www.se23.com/forum/attachment.php?aid=2383

then paste this within the Image tag:

Code:
[img]http://www.se23.com/forum/attachment.php?aid=2383[/img]

One word of warning: Make sure the image you upload is no bigger than 600px wide!
