Hi all,
We are in the process of buying a flat in HOP in an ex LA building and know there are planned major electrical works. My query is if anyone's had these done and knows 1. What they entail, what work may be done and 2. How much it may cost.
One of our friends who is also a Southwark resident just got a bill for £25k for major building works so we are now very, very nervous.
Any experience/thoughts you have would be great, thanks!

When we moved into our two bed flat we discovered that the entire place needed to be rewired, which I imagine would be your worst case scenario.

We got the work done by a certified electrician (NICEIC) and although the amount escapes me it was certainly much less than £5K. We did need to get some plastering/painting done to fix all the holes they put in the wall, but we did this ourselves.

tough one to call. bills can be big for major works. can ask the council also you should look at the lease.
