I think you get that most places though. Avoid little side streets and there's always the mini cab places by the station. Doesn't strike me as any worse than Tooting / Wandsworth. Probably isn't as safe as Dulwich / Wimbledon etc though.

Never seen any real aggro though and I think a lot of it is just in your head when you move to a strange, new place.
