Does anybody know of anywhere is Forest Hill where you can buy West Indian/Jamaican groceries (aside from the small range in Sainsburys)?

There's a place on the corner of Brockley Rise and Gladiator St in Honor Oak. Can't remember what it's called though.

Try Perry Vale, between the south circular and the cab office.

I have never seen the greengrocer on Perry Vale open, which is a shame as we are missing a greengrocer in Forest Hill.

Forest Hill Supermarket on Dartmouth Road may have a small selection, but you might be better to pop over to Sydenham where there is much more selection, or Catford/Peckham where there is a huge variety of vegetables that cannot be found in Sainsburys.

There's several places on Sydenham High Street (one 3 minute stop on the train if you don't drive). It depends on what you want really. The halal butchers (Haji & son?) has some hard food/soup provisions, hardough bread and seasoning. Further down past Superdrugs, Istanbul minimart usually has most other things you would be looking for.

For a bigger range of shops (and hair products galore!) Peckham is the answer.

I'm mainly looking for Lasco products. Seems like something is needed in Forest Hill........I'm not a huge fan of Peckham Thumbdown
