Can anyone recommend a decent MOT test center in the SE23 area?
I'm looking for one that's honest, straightforward, and doesn't try to sell a pack of lies to someone who has a very sound understanding of car mechanics.

I can highly recommend Ichthus motor services just off brockley rise. Have used them for the past couple of years for MOT and servicing and always been happy with the work. Friendly as well.

When I lived in FH I always went to the place in Waldram Place behind the station for repairs,servicing and MOTs. Always found them fair and accommodating.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
Ended up using Ichthus. The tester turned out to be a hot rodder, which was more than good enough for me
