I have asked one of the HOP station staff member about the work on the left bank of the station (the plot of land on the left side when you look North). He said that the land belongs to the Rail Network and what they are currently doing is preparing the ground to install their storage/little barracks that they will use for storage etc. when they start building the lifts for the station.

So lifts are definitely coming to the station then are they? That's a big plus for all of us with buggies. What about the work on the other side of the station?

The plans for the current works associated with the lifts at HOP can be seen at http://planning.lewisham.gov.uk/online-a...CAPR_70218

I get the train every morning and cant help but think the work they are carrying out is absolutely terrible. what the hell are they doing? it takes them around a week to make the most minimal amount of progress. they have been there approaching 2 months now, and every morning 8-10 blokes walk up and down the platform. one wheeling the stones up and down, the other 9 watch. then they take it in turns. I would quite confidently say me and 2 or 3 mates could do in 1 week what they've done in 2 months. Terrible.

I'd have to agree, every time I'm waiting there, I feel tempted to actually pick up some of their tools and finish the job. And I'm a girl.

BTW - every time I see this thread in the topics list, I get all excited thinking we're going to get a bank branch near HOP station. Silly me.

Are they actually doing anything at HOP yet? I thought they were just using it as a place to store various materials and actually working elsewhere.
