Alas as much as I tried to keep them afloat it appears I failed!

Anyone know what is to become of the site?

If anyone wants to set up an independent wine shop, I happen to know a very good wine advisor, potential investor and guaranteed future client!

Wink

We were told by the manager that someone else had bought the store and was planning on opening up an 'off-license.' Whether that is a wine shop or not (or even if it is true) I am not sure. That parade already has a Londis shop. I'm sorry, I don't have anything more concrete than that.

Not another drink outlet. How about a green grocer.

We need a decent wine shop, not another cash and carry reseller

Thresher has been going through some tough times and is closing and selling off a lot of its stores. To be honest this one is too small to have decent volumes of stock and could do with being closer to the station, so I doubt it will end up being anything special.

Greengrocer as an alternative would also be great

Used to be a greengrocer across the road. It's now a William Hill bookies.

Clearly those of us on the SE23/SE6 borders aren't drinking enough - the Catford Majestic has closed down too!

Ah, but the Dulwich Majestic will still deliver to our side of SE23. Phew....

The post office on this parade became a nail bar, which shock horror, didn't last. Can you believe it a nail bar actually closing??

The Londis doesn't open late, or Sunday afternoons which is a pain.

I asked about plans for the shop when I was in the dry cleaners (a couple of doors up) today. Zac thought the new owners were checking out whether they could get the go ahead for a chemist. If not then they would reopen as an 'offy'. Rather a strange either/or combo.......

Not really.

A friend used to say that his local brewery advertised for chemists not brewers!
