Hi Loop the Loop

If you start one I'll join - and I know a few other knitters who'd be interested. I run a small gathering of knitter/makers - called Knits - via my children's school each autumn to knit things for our Christmas Fair. I don't think you need to go to ED - there's plenty of creativity in FH!

I'll join too! I have been thinking this week about trying to start something up and wondered where to begin.

Should we try to get a date & venue in place and then start inviting people?

Hi, I am interested in this too! More of a crocheter myself but have been meaning to find other crafties in SE23...

I am having a baby in 4 weeks so am a bit of a lady of leisure at the mo, any time is good for me!

Let me know if you get anything planned...

Wow - that's 4 of us already! I can do thursday mornings or weds/thurs evenings. Is that any good for the rest of you? Suggest the most obvious place to start: the Honor Oak on the comfy sofas - unless anyone has a better idea? Let me know. I'd just like to say that I am not a brilliant knitter - slow but steady.

Ok this sounds good!
Saturday mornings are a big nono for me though Sad
I am really willing to give this a go, but I have not got the faintest idea about knitting, so we really need someone who will stear this group!!

I'm interested in joining in too, but am very much a beginner so would not be able to steer the group at all.

I can do most evenings or weekends, but if you decide to go for weekday mornings then I'll have to pass. Don't think I can realistically get time off work to attend a knitting group...

Keep me posted anyway.

I could do any of those times as well, Wednesday evenings probably best.

Are any of you on Ravelry? Wondered if we could maybe move this discussion there...

Have just requested an account, so hopefully will be on Ravelry before too long.

Could do Wednesday evenings as well.

Hi,

Weds eves sound great - as I said I may well be AWOL for a fair bit but it would be great to get something regular sorted so people can drop in and out... I am trying desperately to finish a blanket in time for baby but it's so not happening!

Great - should we try for next Wednesday or the following?

Ruth - I'm knitting for my baby as well, due early September, not a blanket yet though, just soakers.

SophieBee, glad you're joining Ravelry. I need friends!

Hi, I should be able to do Weds eve, bump permitting! My blanket isn't actually for baby as it's a rather groovy seventies style one, but I need to use up all my orange and brown wool...Thumbup

husband is telling me off for all my unfinished projects lying around the house...also working on a cross stitch pattern which needs finishing too!

Have we decided on a venue & time?

Should we start off in the honor oak pub? The low sofas would be ok for knitting I think - we could always change if anyone has a better suggestion later...I can do Wednesday 9th but probably not til 8ish.

I've just realised it's my husband's birthday on the 9th - don't change just for me but could everyone possibly do the 10th (Honor Oak, evening)? I really don't want to miss this!

Hi there

Can happily do 9th or 10th, so whatever is easiest for everyone. Should be free any time after 7ish either evening I expect. Honor Oak seems like a good plan to me...

Still no confirmation on my membership from Ravelry btw, sorry calvin Sad

Oh good, if others can do the 10th that would be great.

It must have taken at least 3 or 4 days for my invite; it should be there soon!

Thursday 10th it is then. I don't think we'll need carnations - the needles should give us away.... I'll try to bring two other knitters/crocheters who've expressed an interest too. I do know one really amazing knitter - felts and does all her own patterns/designs but not sure if she would be interested as she already belongs to a textiles group. Anyway really looking forward to seeing you all there - sorry not to meet you ruthb and your brown and orange blanket but enjoy your yoga.

Oh I'm an idiot. I've just realised that I have a work do on Thursday this week, sorry about that.

Don't reschedule on my account though, I'll come along next Wednesday.

Have fun!

Sophie
