People working in there today, so i got nosy and knocked. *Something* is being opened there according to the builder-type bloke I spoke to, although he didn't know what. Encouraging at least.

...meanwhile, over the road, Blockbuster is closing completely on Monday. They're not even keeping half of it as previously thought, so I guess William Hill will get the whole site? The staff in there said they only found out last week they were closing.

Are we sure this is not just while building work takes place to split the unit into two?

When the Blockbuster site was being developed, there were rumours of Woolworths being interested. Does anyone know if this was the case or not? It's a shame the council cannot have more say in developing a coherent highstreet identity.

Just a thought - new to here so not sure of previous approaches etc - but how does Julie Sutch (FH Town Centre Manager) respond to enquiries? Do you think she might be repsonsive if i boshed off an email to her about whats happening at Aceri site - assume she must have some knowledge waht with licensing applications etc...

I wrote a few emails to the previous town centre manager and she always replied very courteously. I heard however that Julie Sutch doesn?t deal with private members of the community but only liaise with local businesses. My source could be wrong. Maybe you should give her a call before you set out to spend time writing to her. 020 8699 1064

there's something happening at pizza pianeta at the moment, too. And there's the lemon grove, too. With Aceri, it looks like we're in for a sudden spirt of activity on london road Smile

At last I've managed to get onto this site!

I'm sure I heard 'live' music coming from the Aceri last weekend - although it wasnt open to the public. It's a shame the place has been closed for so long as it's a prime site in Forest Hill.

I've heard live music in there several times. I think a band use the place as somewhere to rehearse.

You could always write to the council siting the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Under that legislation the council has 20 working days to respond. Failure to provide the requested information may give you a right to seek redress from the information commissioner.
