Can anyone help me - I emailed Lewisham Council some months ago, to have the graffiti removed from the shutters of WHSmiths. As I'm sure your aware this has not been done.
Would others be able to email call them to report this?
Hopefully this will help them move on it.

True, but someone needs to enforce it.

Is this thread discussing vandalism or Graffiti? I personally like a really well done piece of Graffiti that conveys a message and is legally done in an area designated by the council or permission is given by those that own the 'canvas' so to speak, like when Connex allowed the underpass below the station to be decorated. I don't on the other hand agree with 'tagging' or 'Biroglyphics' as I call it where people mindlessly daub personal monikers or scratch into train windows some unreadable message associated with gangs or illegal activity as it is aimed to intimidate and should not be tolerated.

Sorry badwolf, but that "decoration"/graffitti on the underpass is quite dreadful, and an eye-sore IMO.

Perryman, I wasn't commenting on the quality of the Graffiti but using it as an example of when it is aloud by the owners of the property it's applied to. On the other hand I do agree that it isn't very good as I've seen some much better graffiti on derelictlondon.com.

They are pretty good in dealing with issue reported too...

Lewisham can only remove graffiti from private property with permission from the property owner. See this page: http://www.southwark.gov.uk/YourServices...ffiti.html
