As an alternative to trees/shrubs, a bit of scultpure might be nice...though I shudder to think how we/the council would go about choosing it. Personally, I'd probably like to see one that moves in the wind or has flowing water or something like that, but I have a hunch that Steve Bullock, given half a chance, would choose an enormous effigy of himself.
