In case people aren't aware, the Forest Hill Society's remit isn't just SE23:

Michael Abrahams, Chair, FH Society wrote:
FH Society covers all of SE23 and a little bit beyond.

So if you're not strictly SE23 then I'm sure you're welcome too.

A few more details:

The Forest Hill Society will be having a General Meeting on Wednesday 7th May at 7:30pm (doors open 7pm) at Forest Hill School on Dacres Road. This will be a chance to discuss issues that you feel are important for the Forest Hill Society to address in the local area. We will have two guest speakers from Lewisham Council; Aileen Buckton, Executive Director for Community Services, and Steve Gough, Director of Programme Management and Property, who will be giving us the latest information on the rebuilding of Forest Hill Pools, one of the most important issues for the development of our town centre.

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend (and I was so looking forward to watching a punch-up between the various factions of Pools supporters). I trust someone will report back here after the meeting?

Will certainly be there. I hope we can have a constructive discussion on the pools and avoid that punch up, but I'll bring the camera just in case as it might make a fun write up on here afterwards.

I do hope the guest speakers can be concrete and have some more information on plans for us.

See you all there

As a matter of interest, will the current glut of flats that are proving hard to shift (at these exhorbitant rates anyway) not rather dampen the enthusiasm for any sale of land, and will this hold up the development of the pools?

If the budget includes revenue from a sale of the land, would we have to wait for that to be agreed before the project can begin?

There is always the back position of the council whipping out two recent reports that recommended a pool at Forest Hill should not be built.

I think officers said there was a funding gap of ?2m so they'ed probably just trim the 'extras', smaller gym for examole.
