Of you come down the main road from the station towards Waldram Cresent, just before you go under the bridge there is a small garage under one side of the bridge, and on the other side, they have been cleaning it up.

Where there was once a building which collapsed, there is now a bank, and steps.... Are they considering opening this up for access/egress for FH station platform 1 ?

No. This never went directly to the platform but to the front of the old station and there are no known plans to open this up. Another set of steps is the last thing we need to improve access to the station.

Na I know there are other issues, just thought it would be good if they did, to allow the over flowing number of commuters alternatives rather than cramming through the already over crowded main entrance Smile

Just wondered why the site had suddenly seen so much activity.

Because there was a crack in the railway bridge. Workmen have been repairing it.

I noticed today that there is a new metal support propping up the bridge!

There used to be a middle platform years ago not sure if it was used for that. There are photos of it on the sydenham forum on a thread somewhere.
