The area around the Brockley Barge has historically had antisocial drink and drug problems. I used to live a couple of streets away in the early 90's and it was a no go area back then. The pub was shut down because of that after a campaign by angry residents although it seems to have weeded out the worst of it's previous clientele since being taken over by Wetherspoons.
Fish through South London Press archives or similar and I am sure you will find plenty!

Yep, I remember those days in Brockley and it was out of control - it was right that the comunity came together and got thing sorted out. But in my opinion here's nothing wrong with the occasional deal here and there - that's life

Nooooo - drug dealing in Brockley? Never.
I lived in the Upper Brockley Rd in the 60's and family lived in St German's for many years and there has never been a time when there haven't been problems. Nothing has changed.
