Sunday afternoon and we haven't had any water for an hour or so. Has anyone else around Woodcombe Crescent/Devonshire Road had the same problem? Thanks.

Sorry, it's back now. Not an interesting post at all. But I do my best.

I did, for a couple of hours or so. Thames Water were working on a leak, on the corner of Devonshire and Ewelme Roads (I think - there's a van there and work being done, at any rate).

All back now though, as you say :-)

*BUMP *

Sorry for bumping this up, but, I've lived on Devonshire road for two years now and we've lost our water 3 times. Not only is this the first time this has EVER happened to me (10 years in Ealing) but i was appalled by the lack of information or warning received. The second time we lost water I was in the shower which was unpleasant to say the least.

I must say i find thames water procedures here rather poor to say the least!

Woken up to no water - according to the Thames Water website there's a leak on Dunoon Road that they're fixing.

In my entire life until I moved to Forest Hill I'd never ever experienced leaks or water loss. I'm amazed by the amount of leaks I see about, and read about on here. Is it peculiar to Forest Hill?

Ah well. Maybe serves me right for getting up early on a Saturday to get on with things - most of which need water to get on with. Sad

Thanks for the post, MightyMouse. I don't suppose they said how long we'll have to wait until water comes back?

The usual chestnut: "as soon as possible". It's a burst water main, last updated on the website at 6.28 am.

There's a red area that goes quite a way so it looks like it's affecting quite a few people... from London Road all the way up to Honor Oak Park station and all the way up Brenchley Gardens and into the Camberwell cemetery. Hopefully the size of the issue means they'll work with some speed!

Thanks for the info.
Don't forget to run your taps after! (Unlike me last time - all the silt clogged our taps and caused huge problems!)

Surface under the railway bridge at Waldram and Devonshire is all breaking up, HUGE leak, squinting through the pavement. Police and Thames Water on site.
Gonna be a long weekend for some.

Thanks for the link - the map is now showing two burst mains - one in Dunoon and one in Devonshire...

No water around my area - Hengrave road. There's a small water leak at the top of Hengrave road, been dribbling for 2 weeks now.

Crumbs. Just checked the Thames Water website and now it's showing an additional burst main nearby - its pin is on Devonshire Road at the junction with Woodcoombe Crescent, but I wonder if it's really the one Snazy mentions a little further down the road? - oops, Sandpiper beat me to it!

Good job my plans for today included a trip to the gym! Alas, the laundry and dishes will have to remain undone... *shame*

I just walked down to have a look.

there's water pouring out at the corner of the circular and Devonshire with a couple of Thames Water vans on site.

Doesn't seem like a huge amount of water although perhaps they've isolated it and that's why there's no mains pressure. We don't have any on Waldenshaw Rd.

Remarkably, they appear to have done it. Our pressure is back up now as of 11.30am
