The police had St George's Church at Woolstone Road & Vancouver Road taped off last night. The tape was still there this morning.

Does anyone know why?

From what i heard (and it's hearsay) some guys were fighting, one ran into a building, and then there was a stabbing. I'm not sure how accurate that is. Not very nice.

I have heard on good authority that a man was chased into the lobby of the church and stabbed there. He was taken to hospital - haven't heard how he is.

Given the apparent escalation of incidents you would have hoped that the police would increase their prescence as I do not recall seeing any walking patrols recently. I appreciate the need for cut backs but stabbings within a church!!!! REALLY

After seven years in the area I am now installing an alarm and security lights etc. and hopefully the escalation is just the usual pre-christmas madness.

Very sad to hear of another stabbing.
With regards to the police patrols, I think most after dark would always be done in vehicles. See plenty around when walking the dogs at night.

Hope one day soon that this trend of carrying knives ends.

Apparently the young man who was stabbed is now out of danger.
